North Korea Additional Set - Unusual
People asked me what North Korean visas look like - here they are. They're done in a group, and for ours it cost around US$500 for all of us.
This was on the desk of the hotel bedroom when we arrived. Despite the image of North Korea externally, we DID get a warm welcome and we were treated well.
In our room this was the music/radio/alarm system
This is snake alcohol, apparently also popular in Vietnam. The snake venom is made safe by the alcohol. Apparently drinking this makes you virile!

This is how you get books out of the library - you ask her, and she notifies the people at the back, and eventually a book comes out of this chute.

One of my favourites! In one of the hotels, the carpet in the elevator said "Wednesday"! We had no idea why..
.. until the next day, when the carpet in the elevator said "Thursday"!

This was a shocker.. I can now confirm that Pabst Blue Ribbon is on sale in North Korea! I had to buy it and on tasting it can be certain it truly was pabst blue ribbon!
We were walking past these sites which looked a little odd, so we took this picture with one of the guys in our group in his North Korean outfit.

We came across these taxis in Pyongyang. It was very odd; you can't just randomly travel around so it wasn't clear how these would be used.
This is a bowling alley, apparently bowling is quite popular in north korea.
I was very confused by this which was on the wall of the bowling alley. It turns out this was the path walked by the Dear Leader through the bowling alley when he came to visit a few years ago.
